uTraining and uMentor Topics | uTraining - Plus, Premier, Sandbox 201 - How they Connect

Observations from the new Mobile Sandboxes – a series that centers on areas of improvement as we work on raising the bar for the community and increase value for our customers.

Rather than comment on an observation, this forum is more about the driving reasons for creating the Sandbox 201 program. As Peter announced here, we have launched a new Community Plus/Premier program for larger customers which raises the bar for the tester community. Sandbox 201 program connects to the Plus/Premier program in the following:

•Career Development – the Sandbox 201 cycles are the beginning of a learning program that we are building that will eventually become something like uTest Testing Institute. These new curriculum will focus on the career development needs of the tester community. Obviously, we will lean towards the expectations of our larger customers, but the subject matter will quickly expand beyond that. More details in a later forum.

•Preparing for Premier Sandboxes - part of the Plus/Premier program involves a sandbox test cycle that determines which testers will join a customer testing team based on their performance and their communication skills. Rather than drop the community into the deep end of the pool and see who can swim, the Sandbox 201 program provides testers with a learning opportunity before swimming in the Premier deep end. Sandbox 201 cycles are designed with very high expectations to match the Premier sandboxes criteria.

•Fill the Community Plus group - the Sandbox 201 program provides part of the feeder system for the Community Plus group which then provides candidates for the Community Premier sandboxes. If someone scores a High grade in an Sandbox 201 – i.e. iOS Mobile, then they are automatically added to the Community Plus team for consideration for Premier sandboxes.

These new programs will continue to push the tester community to reach new achievements throughout 2013 and beyond.
