What is the Mobile Sandbox 201 Program?
The purpose of this Sandbox is to vet members of the uTest Community on their mobile testing expertise. It is expected that uTest Mobile Testers have a solid understanding of the mobile testing environment, the ability to clearly communicate that understanding, and the recognition that a customer’s requirements and instructions are critically important. Testers that receive the highest grade for this Sandbox will be able to confidently evaluate any mobile app for a customer, discover impactful and valuable defects, and clearly document that information.
Please be aware that this sandbox is evaluating your technical and customer skill sets. Grades are based on the highly valuable bugs that you find, a clear understanding of the test case that you submit, and your ability to follow the customer instructions as written. Passing this Sandbox will increase your invitations to Mobile test cycles that you are eligible for.

How am I graded in Mobile Sandbox 201?
Grades are based on the highly valuable bugs that you find, a clear understanding of the test case that you submit, and your ability to follow the customer instructions as written. There are four possible grades that you may receive upon your completion of the Mobile Sandbox: High, Medium, Low and Fail.
• High – In order to pass this sandbox with the grade of High you must submit an approved test case and at least one bug approved as exceptionally and one bug that is exceptionally or very valuable. Receiving a grade of High will place you directly on a list of Top Mobile testers provided to all PMs. In the long term, your performance in this mobile sandbox will qualify you for a platform specific mobile badge when that program gets rolling.
• Medium - In order to pass this sandbox with the grade of Medium you must submit an approved test case and two Very valuable bugs OR one Exceptional and one Somewhat valuable bug. Receiving a grade of Medium will keep you on a list of Mobile testers provided to all PMs. This grade indicates that you have a good understanding of mobile testing, but you have some items to work. In the long term, your performance in this mobile sandbox will qualify you for a platform specific mobile badge when that program gets rolling.
• Low – A grade of Low indicates that you submitted an approved test case and two Somewhat Valuable bugs OR your approved reports did not follow the instructions exactly. Based on this grade, we feel there are some key items you need to work on before receiving your invitation for your next attempt at the Mobile Sandbox 201.
• Fail – If you receive a grade of Fail it means that several steps in your test case were rejected and/or one or both of your bugs had several issues with instructions or were also rejected. Based on this grade, we feel there are a number of items you need to work on before receiving an invitation to re-attempt Mobile Sandbox 201. Please note: Invitations to future Mobile Sandboxes are based on supply and demand, so you may not be invited to a future class. Therefore, please be sure to put your best foot forward before beginning this Sandbox.
What happens if I am unable to participate?
If you are unable to participate at this time for any reason, please simply decline the cycle. Keep in mind, accepting but not participating will result in an automatic grade of Fail.
