I heard from a little bird that Sandbox 201 no longer exists. Can this be confirmed?

This is currently on hold for the time being -- we're looking into new ways to get testers into more advanced projects @ uTest. Stay tuned Image

I agree with you Marek, but you have to bare in mind that if it's a company you built testing would be the last of your worries, it's questionable whether you will ever have the time to do any testing. Being a founder is a job on it's own so it's not actually a testing job, being a test department lead involves little to no testing in general you can imagine what it would be like if you were actually running the entire company.

We're not employees, but it's good place for testers. Definitely most convenient for me as I can decide about my schedule and projects.

I expected someone to say uTest, it's a pretty good place to be if you're a tester but is it really the best? I agree, when it comes to freedom and product diversity uTest can hardly be matched, but you don't actually choose the products and arrange your schedule with complete freedom, you need to plan around the invites you get. Imagine if you were able to choose cycles and avoid the race for obvious bugs that starts with the start of each cycle, it would be way better but that's not something that could happen. Is there a job anywhere that you heard of that gives you freedom to plan your schedule the way you want it, diversity when it comes to the products under test and respect within the organization, doesn't leave you with the "I feel easily replaceable" aftertaste and all of that is followed by a nice paycheck at the end of the month? Has anyone heard about that anywhere?

You mentioned Google, and that's one of the reasons I posted this topic. A couple of years ago, when people were still not aware of the lack of competent people in IT, working for Google was considered to be a dream job for the majority of people in the industry and I've never heard of a company everyone wants to test for.

Tester Recognition | Tester Praise from Tester of the Quarter: Paid Projects

Once again, a big congrats to those that have been chosen by their peers as Testers of the Quarter, and whose names are proudly displayed in our uTest Hall of Fame! Here are a sampling of some of the praise that was given to the winners during the nomination period over the past couple of weeks (in our Paid Project-related categories):

Outstanding TTLs, Testers' Choice

Linda Peterson
- "Excellent TTL. You always know Linda's got your back if she's running a cycle... or even if she isn't running the cycle Image She also gets my vote for funniest uTester! I don't enjoy cycles half as much if Linda's not involved."
George McConnon - "For his sense of humor and bringing a liveliness to the team. Also he is very responsive and helpful. I had some queries to clarify and he explained them to me in as much detail as he could."
Nadezda Jerjomina - "I was really impressed with her patience and willingness to help. She also makes lots of effort to assure the best quality for the customer - patiently points to the flaws in the bug reports and gives directions if the issue wasn't investigated thoroughly enough."

Outstanding Testers, TTLs' Choice

Sheryl Reed - "Bug reports are impeccable and she always seems to find the hidden gems that are overlooked by other testers."
Iwona Pekala - "Iwona always finds very valuable issues even on the most complicated of products. I have seen her make contributions days after others have looked at a product and she rarely files anything trivial. Her accuracy is outstanding and her reports are well done and easy to follow."
Alexx Kovacs - Whenever results are lacking, I always invite Alexx as I think it is almost impossible for him to not find bugs. He also creates detailed, outstanding bug reports every time.
Cheryl McCarthy - "Very thorough and detailed bugs, don't have to ask her to fix her bugs because they are perfect from the start."

Outstanding Up-&-Comers, TTLs' choice

Marina Maksimovich - "Awesome tester. Her reports are amazing and she reports high-value bugs almost exclusively."
Michael Solomon - "Super engaged and does excellent work. Eager to learn. He'll be a very popular tester."
Timur Nasyrov - "Very well-written, responds quickly to messages left for him. Very impressive for a first cycle with this tester, as well as being a newbie tester."
Cleon Palmer - "Very consistent, always reading and following all the instructions, learning, improving and staying up to date with everything, targeting only very valuable bugs, good communication and always available to help. Cleon is a great tester and will be a great TTL."
Scott Smith - "The quality and diversity of his bugs made him stand out from the crowd on the cycles he participated with me."

Outstanding Project Managers

David Honeyball (CPM) - "David is an excellent Project Manager and Team Lead. He handles chat threads efficiently and answers questions promptly. Amazed by how he handles multiple roles and so many projects with patience and dedication."
Elinor Barak - "Elinor is Professional, friendly and an efficient Project Manager."
Travis Price - "Participated in many projects under the guidance of Travis Price. He responds to mail, clarifies testers' doubts very quickly and makes sure projects run smooth."

But I don't think I should feel bad for telling what I believe is the truth. (although I do feel bad now).
I thank you very much for "picking a fight" and I'm glad you posted what you did. It's taking us down a different path than I expected but that's just fine. Mark brought up an interesting point that I want to explore more.

Does a tester have to "care" about the product in order to do a good job? Is caring about the underlying product (not the testing work) really necessary? Isn't it possible a company may "want" testers who don't care about the product?

In my opinion it's better to stay on 7.1.2 for a week or two as mangers usually add new OS to the projects with delay.

We are building a team of testers to regularly (every 1 or 2 weeks) test a web app for credit card transactions and report functional bugs. Read the details below for more about this project, then fill out the form if you're either interested in participating or know someone who might be.

Requirements:
  • Must test on a non-mobile device's (desktop/laptop) web browser using one of the following OSs: Win XP+, Mac OS X 10.6+
  • Willing to spend up to $125 per cycle on one of your personal credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover), which you will be reimbursed for when paid for your test case completion
  • Willing to spread this testing out over a period of 12-48 hours (since you will be making as many as 24 credit card transactions, you may choose to space them out in order to keep your bank from auto-locking your card due to frequent activity)
  • We are currently only looking for testers in the US and Canada but you may still sign up to show you're interested if you're outside those countries, and we'll contact you if we're able to expand the scope

Pay is a total of $40 for a little more than 60 minutes of total test case execution. You can also submit bugs and earn additional money that way. The bugs will pay out at standard rates.

Don't qualify but know someone who does? Fill out the form below and let us know!

Have questions? Fill out the form then in the final area before submitting, let us know and we'll get back to you as soon as possible!

Hi All,

I am new to JMeter and have some basic queries.

I have an asp.net application (aspx) with a registration page and I need to load test the registrations for multiple users.

The user has to go through a few pages to complete the registration.

Can I record this navigation of user on multiple pages in one go using JMeter for load testing.

The main thing I am looking for is recording the navigation of user on multiple pages

and then do any configuration changes like __viewstate etc etc .

thanks in anticipation

regards

When is it really time to break up with your testing tool?
http://www.te52.com/testtalk/2014/09/18 ... ting-tool/

Is the rate of the service agreement going up the ultimate deal-breaker? Inability to scale with your company's, or testing team's needs? What would you add to this list that isn't there, that is a reason for ending the relationship?
